We are looking for a qualified Cook for our client Chef Ceylon.

Chef Ceylon is a well-known Sri Lankan restaurant in Sydney, established in 2018. Chef Ceylon serves authentic Sri Lankan food which is healthy and full of flavors, cooked fresh in a traditional way. We are seeking to expand our team to keep up with the demand and are looking for a full-time, skilled, experienced Cook. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside and learn from, a passionate and professionally trained brigade of chefs.

To be considered for this role you must have:
Certificate III in commercial cookery plus 2 years of full-time work experience
Food safety certificate.

About the Role & other skill requirements
Competent in a commercial kitchen and have sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and dietary meal requirements.
Previous experience with high-quality bistro or semi-fine dining.
Proven knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP principles.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment at times.
A desire to develop among a driven & professional team.
Able to work shift work.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Team player and multi tasking.

Job Duties
Prepare high-quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes
Presented the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner
Ensuring all that mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time
Receiving and safe storage of food
Assisting with regular stock take
Following correct food hygiene handling practices
Participating in team meetings and surveys
Following the restaurant’s regular cleaning and waste deposal practices
